Automatic Sprinkler Systems:

Questions Commonly Asked

If you're considering the purchase of an automatic sprinkler system for your home, you undoubtedly have many questions you'd like to ask.
Everyone does, which is why we've assembled the most frequently asked questions for you to review here.

Reading this information should provide many answers for you, but please don't hesitate to ask us should you have any additional questions.

Q. Will an automatic sprinkler system do as good of a watering job as I can by hand?

A. It will do a much better job because the system waters automatically, placing exactly the right amount of water on individual lawn and garden areas. It never gets too busy to water properly, and it never forgets to turn the water off at the appropriate time.

Q. Will the system use more water than I'm currently using?

A. No. In fact, it actually will conserve water while doing a better job of watering. You'll never have to worry about run-off from over watering or wasting water when you forget to turn off the hose. And, with a "Rain Smith" your new system will know when it's raining and simply shut itself off when water is not needed.

Q. We generally get about 38" of rainfall each year. Do we really need a sprinkler system with that much rain?

A. If it rained at your house every three days, the same amount each time, you probably wouldn't need a sprinkler system. But nature doesn't work that way and the only way to ensure healthy lush plant growth is to make certain your lawn and plants receive a regularly timed, evenly measured amount of water. In the dry season, when there is little or no rain, your yard can suffer damage after just a few days without water.

Q. Will having a sprinkler system really save me time?

A. When you have an automatic sprinkler system installed at your home, you simply can forget about watering. No more worrying about finding the time to water everything you should, or remembering to move the hose and turn off the water. Your new sprinkler system will practically run itself, following your instructions to a tee - even when you are away from home. All the hours you normally spend watering your lawn and garden with a hose, will now be yours to spend doing the things you really like to do.

Q. Can I save money by installing the system myself?
